It depends on the season and the weather. In the fall a delivery is a routine stop on the route. After a storm, roads and conditions decide the day, and we cannot promise a delivery time. That is the reason we ask customers to order at about 30 percent on will-call, and never to let the dial go below 20.
Do I have to be home when the propane truck comes?
Usually not, as long as the driver can reach the tank and any gate is open. If the tank has run completely out of gas, that is different: the system has to have a leak check done by a qualified technician before it goes back in service, and someone needs to be there for that visit.
